Dear Stakeholders and Advisory Group members,

The Government of Canada (GOC) continues to support Canadians, at risk populations, businesses, non-profits and others impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by introducing a range of financial relief programs.

Additional information is now available on the Emergency Community Support Fund. The funding will be allocated through the three national intermediaries, United Way Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and Community Foundations of Canada to eligible organizations that are serving vulnerable populations, including Veterans. Community-based organizations from across the country can apply for funding to support a variety of activities that address a pressing social inclusion or well-being need caused by the pandemic.

Additional information on eligibility criteria is outlined in the attached Fact Sheet. Webinars are being organized to help organization understand how the funds will be distributed and how to apply. See below for dates and how to register:

Information on Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan is available here.

The Veterans Affairs Canada website and social media channels continue to be updated with the latest information, and I encourage you to visit and to check back often.

We encourage you to pass this along to anyone who may be interested.

Thank you for all the work you and your organization are doing to help Veterans during this difficult time.

Stay healthy and safe,

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence
