JOB DESCRIPTIONS

6.6.a.  CEREMONIES AND MEMORABILIA

  •      Is elected for a two year renewable term        
  •      Preserves the Ceremonies and Protocols of the RCMP and the RCMP Veterans’ Association.           
  •      Serves as liaison  between Vancouver Division and the RCMP “E” Division Ceremonial Troop      
  •      Is the keeper of all Ceremonial regalia belonging to Vancouver Division    
  •      Assists the Honor Guard Coordinator and Honor Guard Commanders with the acquisition of Ceremonial regalia for Funerals and Celebration of Life Ceremonies. 
  •      Serves as the coordinator and Right Marker for Vancouver Division’s participation in large ceremonial events e.g. Remembrance Day Parade   
  •      Orders and sells applicable RCMP and RCMP Veterans’ association memorabilia  
  •     Orders items of uniform and kit for members of Vancouver Division     
  •      Is responsible for all funds expended and collected in the sale of Ceremonial regalia and memorabilia and for turning same over to the Division Treasurer
  •      Is the Vancouver Division Sergeant-at-Arms   
  •      Performs other duties when requested by the President          

6.6.c DIRECTOR COMMUNICATIONS (revised October 2017) 

  • Is elected for a two year renewable term
  • Manage and maintain the Vancouver Division Website by:
    • ensuring all software systems are kept up to date, including, but not limited to
      • Mailchimp, google analytics, anti-spam programs
      • WordPress and WP Plugins (website operations platform)
      • WordPress plugins such as, Acunetix WP Security, Akismet Anti-Spam, AntiVirum, Google XML Sitemaps, Jetpack, Maintenance Mode, MediaElement.js, PodPress, VideoPress, WishList Member, WooDojo, WP Hascash, WP Poll, WP Archive-Sitemap Geneator, WP Realtime Sitemap, WP SuperCache        
    • monitoring all computer security features to minimize disruption
    • conducting disaster recovery in the event of a computer attack or penetration
    • create and suspend User id’s and Password accesses
    • add new members to Mailchimp Distribution list
    • advise of specific Veterans’ Membership Meeting dates/times in each monthly Veterans’ update and other communication, as required
  • Create specific webpages on a weekly or monthly basis: for example: Gone but Not Forgotten, Historical Information/Stories etc.
  • Receive and distribute a copy of other Divisions’ newsletters via Veterans’ Quick Updates
  • Send out RCMP Veterans’ update once a month, or as required, when distribution of timely information is necessary
  • Create and print posters for various Division functions

6.6.f MEMBERSHIP (Revised December 2017)

  • Is elected for a two year renewable term of office
  • Develops goals to enhance Division membership levels
  • Educates and trains members about the importance of recruitment and retention of members
  • Develops a membership action plan to improve members satisfaction and involves surveying members and initiating change in response to their feedback to ensure that the division remains relevant to its members
  • Conducts assessments to ensure that membership development and retention efforts are successful
  • Works with the Executive to create a positive image that is attractive to prospective and current members
  • Processes, maintains and files all applications for Membership in the Association
  • Assists in the transition of new members into the Association
  • Chairs the Credentials Committee to assess the eligibility of Life Member nominations and presents the nominations to the Division Executive for concurrence and subsequent approval by the Division Membership
