Broadening our approach to commemoration
Dear Members of the Association,
We have received a note from VAC Internal Communications to the effect that they are staging a remarkable Facebook event on February 22nd, 2021 to expand on the future of remembrance and recognition in Canada.
Thanks to VAC for providing this information.
Their flyer follows in both official languages.
James Forrest
Director of Communications
As we look back on the successful commemoration of the 100th and 75th anniversaries of the end of the First and Second World Wars, we are exploring what the future of remembrance in Canada will look like.
Since the Korean War, Canada has contributed to international security, peace support and humanitarian efforts in different regions around the world. It’s time for a new approach to recognize the service and sacrifice of all who have served Canada, here and abroad.
Please join our virtual event next Monday to learn more about our vision for commemoration!
The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, Dr. Lee Windsor and Captain (ret’d) Hélène Le Scelleur will outline how this proposed approach aims to better serve the Veteran community.
When:
22 February 2021, at 1:00 p.m. EST/ 2:00 p.m. AST
Duration:
30 minutes
