This information is being provided to all Association Members
Dear Association Members,
Regimental No. 16675, S/Sgt. Walter Tyrrell (rtd)
Yesterday, thanks to some information from John Leitch of Regina Division we provided a profile of S/Sgt. Tyrrell that dated back to late 2015. Readers may have thought that our S/Sgt. had peaked in terms of receiving awards after reading the 2015 news item.
Not so.
Late in the day yesterday a message was received from S/S/M John A. Buis M.O.M. of Burnaby Detachment, RCMP.
John pointed out that “Walter was recognized for his exceptional volunteer efforts by Rotary International with the Paul Harris Fellow through the Richmond Rotary in March and on September 5, 2019 with the Sovereign’s Medal For Volunteers by the Lieutenant Governor of BC”.
John was also gracious enough to attach some photos of the events and they follow hereunder.
I would like to echo, on the behalf of the Association, John’s parting remarks “Well done Walter!”
But there’s more – a very pleasant surprise at the end of the images awaits you.
James Forrest
Director of Communications

And now the surprise. S/S/M Buis is also a recipient of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. A member of the Force serving his community that we can all be very proud of.
Well Done John!
