Richmond Street Named in Honour of Cst. Tom Agar

Cst. Tom Agar was shot and killed while on duty at Richmond Detachment on September 19, 1980.  Vancouver Divison Veteran George Loeppky spearheaded an effort to have a street in Richmond named in honour of Tom.  The attached message was received from George.  The Vancouver Vets would like to thank George for his efforts to have Tom honoured by the City of Richmond.
“City Councillor Andy Hobbs just phoned me to tell that the City of Richmond has finalized the naming of a new street in honour of Cst. Thomas Agar. This is a new street off the north end of No. 3 Road.  Andy has seen the new sign and describes it as one of the new green signs and has an RCMP Crest and Tom’s name.  There will be a dedication in the future and when I receive further information I will pass it along.”
