EWERT, Jack G. – Nov. 8, 1948 – Apr. 4, 2019

OBITUARY

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Jack succumbed to his 8 month battle with brain cancer. Pat, his wife of 45 years was at his side. Jack was born in Leoville, Sask. Jack’s life started in a log cabin with no electricity or running water. He never forgot his humble beginnings. He helped out on the family farm in Leask Sask.,installed a power line in Kitsault BC, did underground mining in Thompson Man., spent a year at Royal Military College in Kingston, Ont. and then entered  the RCMP at Depot in Regina. After 30+ years in a variety of sections within the RCMP in Burnaby, North Van and Coquitlam he retired in 2001 as a Staff Sergeant. It was always work hard and play hard! Jack enjoyed a variety of sports: football, skiing, softball, tennis, curling, golf and riding his motorcycle. Traveling the world was a favourite pastime (watch out for pirates and busses!), as well as wintering in Palm Desert.

Jack is survived by Pat, Nora his sister, Lloyd his brother and numerous other family members. He was predeceased by his mother Rose, his father Jacob and his brother Dennis. In lieu of flowers, donations to Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody are appreciated. Toast Jack with a glass of Scotch and remember the good times and friendships. There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, June 17 (1:00 – 4:00) at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club (3251 Plateau Blvd., Coquitlam) and a Remembrance at RCMP Depot in Regina on Friday Aug. 16 at 2:00.
