The Association is seeking to fill the position of Chief Administration Officer of the Association, previously referred to as the Executive Officer.

What follows is a general bulletin and attached is an expanded job description giving greater detail of the expections of the position.

Chief Administration Officer – CAO Job Bulletin

The RCMP Veterans’ Association seeks a knowledgeable, energetic and experienced self-starting individual to be the Chief Administration Officer (CAO).

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the incumbent will

  • support the Board in achieving its strategic priorities;
  • ensure compliance with the Association’s administrative and fiduciary responsibilities as required by legislation;
  • actively support the Association’s Director of Communications in the timely distribution of information to the membership via the website and social media;
  • represent the Association with the Government of Canada, the RCMP, other veterans’ organizations and the general public as required;
  • develop and maintain strategic partnerships;
  • manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the Ottawa Association Office.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status;
* Resident in the National Capital Region;
* Able to obtain at minimum an RCMP “enhanced reliability” security clearance;
* Previous service and honourable discharge as a Member or Employee of the RCMP,
* Bilingualism an asset

SALARY AND PLACE OF WORK

This is a full-time position with a 32-hour per week work schedule. Salary is negotiable. Place of work will be the Association Office on the campus of the Canadian Police College in Ottawa, ON. Free parking is available. Cafeteria and fitness facilities are available on site.
