BI-MONTLY REPORT
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2020

Because we are still in the Pandemic mode, there has been little activity within the Ladies Auxiliary to report.  We hope that all are keeping well, staying close to home, and following Dr. Henry’s orders regarding masking, distancing, and staying active and healthy.

Ladies Auxiliary Luncheon/Meetings, 2020 & 2021: Our Ladies Auxiliary has been in contact with the catering staff at “Hazelmere” and they have graciously allowed the Ladies Auxiliary (and the Vancouver Veterans’ Association) to carry over our contracted meetings with them (at no cost) over until such time in 2021 when we can again meet safely and hold our events.  Even though we had signed a contract with “Hazelmere” for a set number of meetings/events for 2020, they have excused those that we could not fulfil.  We are thankful for the good relationship that our Association has with “Hazelmere.”

Ladies Auxiliary 2-Year Executive  Elections, November 2020:  Due to the present COVID-19 situation, and with no meetings being held, it has been decided by our Executive to hold all elections over until we are safely able to meet in 2021, thereby keeping the current Executive positions in place until then.  It would have been almost impossible to contact and tally votes from all of our members in order to have an election, especially since we did not have any new candidates to offer their services.  Thankfully, no TRUMP interference!!

Ladies Auxiliary Annual Christmas Luncheon:  Needless to say, we will not be holding our Annual Christmas Luncheon in December, nor will the Vancouver Veterans’ Association be holding their annual Christmas Levee.  Hopefully, 2021 will see us back on schedule!!

Phone Contact Change:  Recently, I (Dorothy) have been having problems with nuisance calls, etc. and we have taken the answering machine off of our telephone number (604) 261-4630, and only answer calls that show a personal or business name.  Therefore, if your name does not show when phoning, please contact our Ladies Auxiliary President, Denise Martinson, at (604) 910-1186, and she will take a message for me.
