February 6, 2020 Ladies Auxiliary Birthday/Luncheon: Meeting in the Fireside Room at “Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club,” our Ladies Auxiliary’s Vice-President, Susan Rivard, presided and officially welcomed members and guests in the absence of President, Denise Martinson. Special references were made to the Vancouver Division of the R.C.M.P. Veterans’ Ladies Auxiliary celebrating its 84thyear this month. Violet Holmes, said Grace followed by the Lord’s Prayer. Guest Speaker for this meeting was Mr. George Garrett, Honorary Member of the Vancouver Veterans’ Association, who gave an informative and interesting review of his recently published book, “Intrepid Reporter,” outlining his working years as a news and police reporter on many incidents and police cases in the Vancouver Lower Mainland. Numerous books were purchased by our Auxiliary members but George ended up running out of the number he brought to the meeting, but will be able to supply others on request. Several knitted items for babies/infants were handed in for donation to the “Variety Club.” Following the awarding of raffle prizes, the meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
March 5, 2020 Ladies Auxiliary Luncheon/Meeting: We plan on having a St.Patrick’s theme for this monthly meeting, and our members may choose to wear something “green” for this event, to be held in the “Fireside Room” at “Hazelmere”. Please remember to renew your yearly membership ($30.00) at this meeting if you have not already done so. Those who have not paid for Year 2020 will no longer retain their membership in the Auxiliary as an Associate Member of the R.C.M.P. Veterans’ Association.
April 2, 2020 Ladies Auxiliary Spring Fashion Show: “Laura’s” and “Melanie Lynn,” two ladies’ wear stores in White Rock, B.C., will be presenting their new Spring fashions at our Ladies Auxiliary noon buffet luncheon at “Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club” in the “Garden Room.” The ladies are asked to be seated at 11:45 a.m. with the buffet lunch at 12:00 noon, followed by the fashion show. The cost for all attendees is the regular $25.00 for the luncheon with no additional cost for the fashion show. Our Auxiliary members are welcome to bring their female friends/relatives to this luncheon and fashion show. Please remember that attendance is by reservation only.
May 7, 2020 Ladies Auxiliary Luncheon/Meeting: This will be our last official luncheon/meeting for the 2020 Spring Session but plans have not yet been finalized for this meeting. It has also not been decided if we will have an additional get-together in June, but this will depend upon a vote from our members. The phone conveners will advise our members on the final plans for these events.
