Ottawa Division Remembrance Day Ceremonies
Remembrance Day Ceremonies
Dear Members of the Association
Ottawa Division has provided the following information covering their staging of a ceremony to remember those Canadians who gave their lives in the service of Canada.
President Pelletier of Ottawa Division advises that members of the Musical Ride will be in attendance.
The bulletins mentioned will affect only Ottawa Division.
Of particular note is that the event will be live-streamed and therefore available to view on your computer.

During Veterans’ Week, November 5 to 11, you will be receiving bulletins to remember the brave men and women who served and gave their lives in the wars in which Canada participated. This year being the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we will particularly remember those who made up the No. 1 Provost Company (RCMP) in the Second World War and, especially, those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the usual ceremony at the National War Memorial is not happening this year. Our division which usually participates in this annual event decided to hold a small ceremony at the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery at Beechwood during Veterans’ Week. Participation has been limited and all public health guidelines will be followed.
At the end of the ceremony, a plaque will be unveiled to recognize and honour the members of the No. 1 Provost Company (RCMP) who died during the Second World War.
The event will be live streamed at 10:40 on the Beechwood Facebook page of the Beechwood Cemetery.
