The following was received from Jim’s daughter, Keri:

“Jim was born on a farm in Saskatchewan, the second oldest of four. He joined the RCMP in March, 1966 and graduated in September, 1966. His first posting was Chilliwack, BC. He spent his entire career with “E” Division in British Columbia, with postings in Princeton, Sidney, Parksville, Salmo, Dawson Creek and Prince Rupert. He retired out of the Coquitlam Detachment as S/Sgt Administrative N.C.O. in August, 2004 with 38 1/2 years of proud service. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Tony and Julia and niece Mandi. He is survived by his daughter Keri (Tim); son Jay; grandson Dale (Devon); sister Beatrice (Mert); brother Jerry (Karen); sister Debbie; nephews Pat (Andrea), Mark (Candace), Eric, Ian (Meghan); niece Stephanie (Andrew). The family is thankful for the compassionate care of the Doctors and nurses at Royal Columbian Hospital. No service as per Jim’s wishes. His ashes will be interred at RCMP Depot in Regina. Rest in peace “Pops”.”

Jim was a member of the Vancouver Division.
