New Podcast Series – Veterans’ Week 2020

Each year, Canadians recognize November 5-11 as Veterans’ Week. In 2020, the Government of Canada marked a variety of 75th anniversaries—the Liberation of the Netherlands, Victory in Europe Day, and Victory over Japan Day—all of which led to the end of the Second World War.

While this year’s Veterans’ Week may look a bit different, we will pay tribute to the more than one million Canadians and Newfoundlanders who served during the Second World War. Many of our activities will be virtual, including the recently launched, brand new Faces of Freedom podcast series. This series features eight episodes that highlight the experiences and stories of Veterans who served in the Second World War and other Canadians who commemorate their sacrifices. On October 20, we released our very first episode. Subsequent episodes are being posted one by one at a rate of two per week.

We very much appreciate your help in promoting this initiative that commemorates the Second World War and the sacrifices of Canadians to restore peace and freedom around the world.

They are available on all major streaming platforms such as Apple Podcast, Spotify, and Google Play.

We very much appreciate your help in spreading awareness and keeping the legacy of Canada’s Veterans alive.
