Last week, we posted a webpage seeking assistance in identifying a past member of the RCMP.

Veterans Frank Kelley and Fred Bodnaruk have identified the unknown members as – ‘Titch’ Wilfred George Lambert (Reg. #16635 – O.568).

Titch originally joined the British Columbia Provincial Police (BCPP)  in 1949 and converted to the RCMP when the Force took over from the BCPP on August 15, 1950.

In 1958, Titch received a commendation for his actions during the Doukhobor bombings in Vernon, B.C.  Based on his actions,  suspects were arrested and convicted.

On July 1, 1965, he was commissioned and eventually retired from the Force in December 30, 1977 as the OC Victoria Subdivision.  Titch passed away on August 27, 1998.

Apparently at the time that the following photograph was taken, he had no idea that he was actually standing on a live bomb.
