Laird Allan’s: Collector Corner

Veteran Laird Allan is an avid collector of RCMP regalia.

For our centennial year, Laird has forwarded the following for the viewing enjoyment of our Association members:

With the creation of the Veterans’ Association, they established the Life Member Award.  The following is an example of this award with the names of the original members being added.

In 1912, members of the Calgary Veterans group created a specific medal for its members.  This medal is illustrated below:

An excellent book on the history of the Veterans’ Association is Veteran Donald Klancher’s book entitled “The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans’ Association.”  Noted book is out of circulation but can copies can be located on the ABE Books website.
