Funeral arrangements for Sgt. Andrew Harnett, Calgary Police Service

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Calgary Police Sgt. Andrew Harnett on December 31st, 2020. On behalf of the RCMP, we offer our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Andrew, as well as our colleagues at the Calgary Police Service.

To show solidarity and support, RCMP detachments and buildings will lower their flags to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Saturday January 9th. Employees are encouraged to wear the Mourning Ribbon on the left lapel or left pocket flap on a uniform, closest to the heart.

Funeral

The funeral for Sgt. Andrew Harnett will be held this Saturday, January 9th at 1:00 p.m. MDT. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service will only be open to a small gathering of close friends and family.

A live stream video of the funeral will be available at the below link. As per the family’s wishes, please do not share the funeral livestream on social media. Please note that livestreaming on ROSS is not available.

Funeral Procession

A public livestream of the procession after the funeral will be available through the Calgary Police Service’s YouTube channel and social media accounts. You are welcome to share the public livestream in any way you wish.
