Fraudulent Go-Fund-Me account tries to raise money off Mountie’s death

Dear Members,

Under the above-noted headline the Battleford News-Optimist newspaper has provided the following warning contained in an article dated 2021-06-13 that deals with the death of Cst. Shelby Patton.

“The family of a Mountie who was killed on duty Saturday has informed Saskatchewan RCMP a fraudulent Go-Fund-Me page has been created in the name of Constable Patton. RCMP advise the public to not give money to this account in the name of Sam Joseph or promote this account’s activities. RCMP have advised Go-Fund-Me the account is fraudulent.”

Larceny evidently, has no bounds.
