MSA Security is currently looking for qualified individuals to fill openings for Unarmed Enhanced Protection Specialist (EPS).  The ideal candidate for this role would be a highly motivated retired law enforcement officer, prior military or prior private sector security experience to work in the Vancouver, BC  area. We will train the right candidate.

1. Job Duties/Responsibilities

Intercede with disruptive persons by asking for compliance with acceptable behavior/processes
Escort, or assist in escorting, persons from the event because of their inappropriate behavior
Observe and report inappropriate or suspicious behavior and/or materials/objects to the client
Secure and monitor ingress and egress for the client. Monitor and provide security for limited and unauthorized access location(s) at the client location. Communicate and/or document any irregular security-related or safety-related incidents. Respond to safety and emergency-related incidents
Screening or searching individuals through walkthrough magnetometers at special events
Screening or searching individuals with handheld magnetometers at special events
Screening or searching bags or packages through SmartTech X-Ray Machines at special events.
Access control (at points of ingress and egress)
Check ID badges for authorized admittance. Provide anti-tailgating control to protect against unauthorized admittance. May assist with visitor sign-in/temporary badge issuance process as requested by client. – Ensure persons do not access unauthorized areas
Property control (at points of ingress and egress)
Monitor property movement by verifying authorization
Deny unauthorized property movement. Educate persons moving property regarding processes required to obtain authorization
Assist in crowd control during event, emergency evacuation, or non-emergency migration from one venue to another

Security Contact or other MSA person supervising the event (as directed by the Client Security Contact)

Assist and liaise effectively with the client’s security manager, law enforcement agencies, security personnel, and local partners or their representatives Be available for incident/emergency response duty, standby duty, and client demonstrations, which includes weekends, holidays, nights and overnights.
2.  Education/Qualifications
Highly motivated retired law enforcement officer, prior military or prior private sector security experience
Must have a dependable personal vehicle to transport yourself from various client locations
3.  Physical/Work Requirements
Be available for incident/emergency response duty, standby duty, and client demonstrations, which includes weekends, holidays, nights and overnights
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear with the clients security manager, law enforcement, and/or security personnel
