Depot Division National Memorial Service
Depot Division National Memorial Service
Dear Members of the Association
On Wednesday, 2020-09-09, CSM Al McCambridge brought to the Association’s attention the live streaming of the Force’s National Memorial Service from Depot. With this being an event of great interest to both serving and retired members it was suggested that the coordinates of the event be distributed.
The following is from the Force’s webpage.
Watch live or on demand
The RCMP National Memorial Service will be streamed on the RCMP Depot Division YouTube channel.
You can watch live on Sunday, September 13, at 10:00 CST or any time after the event.
Changes due to COVID-19
This year, Depot will host a small Memorial Parade with two cadet troops and only critical staff in attendance. The ceremony will be streamed—connecting us together, whether near or far—to pay tribute to our fallen heroes.
Names will not be added to the Cenotaph, Honour Roll and Memorial Wall at this time. This decision was not made lightly and involved the families of our recently fallen members, Constable Allan Poapst and Constable Heidi Stevenson. The RCMP plans to provide a formal Memorial Service when COVID-19 restrictions are no longer in effect.
As an organization, we have to adapt to the challenges in front of us while understanding the importance of tradition. We thank you, the families, colleagues and friends of our fallen for your understanding.
