Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) CF-1 Card
Dear Members of the Association
As many, if not most of you are aware, the CF1 card is available to all former members of the RCMP and provides for a wide variety of benefits and discounts. Hotels in North America, for example, often provide a discount for Veterans and that card identifies you as one. A whole lot of shopping benefits are out there as well, but I caution you not every retail outlet honours the card. Unfortunately, there are misunderstandings about what you are eligible for as well.
With this in mind, we will be working with the resource person who handles the program for DND and I expect a full explanation will be provided. Therefore, I am very pleased to announce our Association member from Ottawa Division, Graham Muir has graciously volunteered to work with the DND member to gain a full understanding of what the card can do for us.
Graham is an Ottawa Division Past President and has past Military and Peacekeeping background in his service. Additionally as a member of the RCMP Pipes & Drum “volunteer” band he has many contacts with retired and serving military personnel. Indeed even some with past involvement in the CF Card program. We will be well served by Graham’s participation on this committee.
