Picture of Interest

A member found this sign in a junk shop and gave it to me.   She asked me the question; “Have I ever seen a sign like this before?”   My long answer was “no”. Back in the early days I have seen some unique signs on older detachment buildings, but nothing like this.   It is made of metal and about fourteen inches high. There was a label on the back indicating where it came from.   The business is still in operation back east and is furniture supplier. I contacted them and drew a blank.   To the best of their knowledge they did not supply signs and if they did it would have been long ago.

For our readers, does anyone recall seeing a sign similar to this one on any of the detachments they served at over the years.

Trivi Question – Who Is This Member?

After self inviting himself to visit the United States in 1959 after becoming President of Cuba which apparently President Dwight Eisenhower was not to thrilled with. To avoid meeting with Castro the president went golfing.

A short visit to Canada followed and even a revolutionary wants to have his picture taken with a man in red serge!

Who is the member?
