Breakfast On The Rock
Dear Association Members,
The President of Newfoundland and Labrador Division, President Leo O’Brien has very generously shared some news from the Rock.
A few years ago, October 20th., 1977 to be precise, the Charter to create the Newfoundland and Labrador Division was signed.
Leo reports that since that time the Division has received tremendous support from the RCMP in the Province ranging through all ranks from the C.O. “B” Division to the constables in Nain, NL.
The Charter Breakfast is held to show Newfoundland and Labrador Division’s appreciation for the support of the Force through the years.
On October 18th., 109 employees of Headquarters and Association Veterans turned out to enjoy a wonderful meal sponsored by the Veterans’ Association.
Veteran Ken Ellis, one of the founding members of the RCMP NL Veterans’ Association Division, turned out for the breakfast. Ken is the sole remaining founding member still with us and his presence was a terrific addition.
Assistant Commissioner Ches. W. Parsons also joined in the festivities and his attendance was greatly appreciated.
News from the Divisions is always interesting and again I would like to thank Leo for providing this story to be shared with the members of the Association.
