Facebook & Twitter for VAC
Dear Members of the Association,
An earlier message today from RCMP-VAC liaison officer Sgt. Kim Henricken suggested that our members check the VAC Facebook and Twitter pages for ongoing news about what is happening at VAC.
A number of our members have replied to say that they do not use these two computer applications and have wondered where else the information is available.
VAC does maintain a very robust website – available by clicking here. The site includes an entire section dedicated to the Force – available by clicking here. It bears repeating that there is a great deal of information available on the VAC website ranging from Mental and Physical health to Financial programs and a myriad of other topics in between. Similarly, the RCMP coverage is extensive and helpful.
These sites are very informative but do not have the currency of the Facebook and Twitter pages. Sgt. Hendricken does ensure that the Association is notified of developments at VAC that affect our members and these are transmitted upon receipt.
Additionally, almost all of our Divisions do have advocates at the ready to assist in resolving any VAC queries that our members may have and leading the Advocates is our Chief Advocate Ruby Burns.
