RCMP Collective Agreement
Dear Members,
Over the past while a number of questions have arisen regarding pension increases and retroactivty related to the noted Collective agreement.
Our pension specialist, Steve Walker has been making enquiries on the behalf of the Association and has learned the following from NPF Special Advisor, Kim Hendricken.
“The Collective Agreement was officially signed by Treasury Board on August 6,2021.
All released members of the RCMP who worked any time during the period of this contract 2017-2022 would be eligible for any increases and applicable retroactivity. They can expect to wait up to 450 days from August 6 before receiving any of these retroactive increases from the RCMP.
Former members with any questions on timelines for Pension retroactivity and increases should contact the Government of Canada Pension Centre (1-855-502-7090). Those with questions on the Disability Insurance retroactivity timelines should contact Canada Life directly at 1-800-665-8622 (BC to Man) or 1-800-283-5375 (Ontario – East).
The agreement will be posted onto the TB Site under Collective Agreements; however, I cannot comment on TB’s timelines to do so. https://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/agreements-conventions/index-eng.aspx
Hope this helps clarify your questions.
