Payments as a result of an error made in disability pensions under Pension Act between 2003-2010
Dear Members of the Association,
The following information has been provided by RCMP – VAC Liaison Officer, Sgt. Kim Hendricken
Sgt. Hendricken is urging RCMP veterans to reach out to estates of members who had been in receipt of a disability pension under the Pension Act between 2003-2010. She adds that those widows who are still living and who are now receiving pay from VAC of a survivor pension would most likely have already received this payment. If a member, who was a disability pensioner between 2003-2010, died without a surviving spouse, the estate could apply through the portal below to determine what if any money may be owed to the estate.
Corrective payments are being issued to recipients of benefits under the Pension Act between 2003 and 2010. If the recipient is deceased, you may be able to apply for the corrective payment on their behalf.
The Portal:
If you are legally entitled to inherit the assets of a deceased benefit recipient, you will need to apply for the corrective payment. VAC is now accepting applications for corrective payments related to deceased CAF or RCMP members and Veterans only. Applications related to their deceased survivors or dependents will be available in the weeks ahead. Please check the VAC website, this portal https://dpca-rcpi.vac-acc.gc.ca/dpca/public/login or VAC’s social media channels regularly for updates. |
