Mounted Police Members’ Legal Fund

Dear Association Members,

Past President Al Rivard has provided the following communication that the Fund has issued regarding the amalgamation of the Legal Fund with the new National Police Federation .

James Forrest
Director of Communications
RCMP Veterans’ Association

“Dear Legal Fund Members,

As you were advised, a Special Meeting of the Legal Fund was to be held in Ottawa, On.  December 2, 2019 for the purpose of voting for dissolution of the Legal Fund or amalgamation with the National Police Federation.

All Members who attended the meeting in person or by proxy, except one, voted in favor of pursuing  amalgamation with the National Police Federation.

Accordingly, the Executive will negotiate with the National Police Federation to settle a Letter of Intent which will set out the basic terms of the amalgamation.

The Letter of Intent will be sent to Members when signed.

In January the Executive will work with the National Police Federation to settle a formal Amalgamation Agreement.

Once the Amalgamation Agreement has been approved by the Directors of the Fund, it will be submitted to a Members meeting for approval.

A.G. Clarke, Secretary/Treasurer, MPMLF”
