Killed On Duty: Three Moncton RCMP Members
On June 4, 2014 at Moncton New Brunswick members responded to a call of a male walking down the street in military fatiques carrying two rifles.
The ensuing exchange of gunfire left three RCMP members dead and two wounded. The news reports below provide the initial reports of the incident and the eventual capture of the suspect:

Three members killed have been identified:
Constable Fabrice Gevaudan (Reg. #55685) was 45 years old and was originally from Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He leaves behind a wife and family.
Constable Douglas Larche (Reg. #49269) was 40 years old and was originally from Saint John, N.B. In 2008 Larche received a Commander’s Commendation for saving the life of an unconscious baby in Moncton. He too leaves behind a wife and family.
Constable David Ross (Reg. #56227) was 35 years old and was originally from Victoriaville, Quecbec. He was a police dog handler and leaves behind a wife six months pregnant and a young son.
The two wounded members were: Constables Darlene Goguen and Eric Dubois.

These killed officer’s names will be added to the RCMP Honour Roll and to the RCMP Cenotaph in Regina – with the names of 231 other members who also paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country and the communities they served. RCMP members and Veterans across the country are deeply sadden by the death of these three Force members.
