West Shore RCMP Detachment Crime Reviewer – Casual (Up to 3 positions)

Do you have the right attitude, qualifications and superior people skills for the job? If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for casual employment at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police West Shore Detachment in the position of Casual Crime Reviewer.

The successful candidate(s) will provide administrative, operational and technical support to the General Duty Police Watch of the West Shore Detachment. More specifically, they will provide quality assurance audits on all investigative files, process the non-investigation portions of General Duty files, review correspondence, and analyze Policy Operational reports to ensure compliance and quality.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma; supplemented by RCMP operational courses and a minimum of 5 years operational experience in police investigation work, preferably in E Division, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience;
  • Type 50 wpm accurately; and
  • Candidates will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to accept or initiate and effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks;
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to analyze and process information with high level of accuracy, discretion and attention to detail, while maintaining strict confidentiality;
  • Thorough knowledge of RCMP national data systems, including but not limited to PIRS, CPIC, OSR, CIIDS and PRIME;
  • Efficient in keyboarding/word processing systems and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and various transcription software; and
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including printers, scanners, copiers, telephone, fax machine, etc.

Hours of work will no more than three days a week, typically from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday. The wage for the position is $34.22 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. This is a CUPE Local 50 position.
