Sept. 19 – 30: Gone But Not Forgotten

When a RCMP Veteran passes away – their old colleagues pause for a moment to reflect on the good times they had and the memories they created.

 

 

 

 

Despite the times that deceased member was serving their communities and away from their families, the Veteran’s family members are extremely proud of the contributions made by the recently departed.

The following Veterans have passed away on the past few weeks:

 

#35384 – Retired Corporal Douglas W. COPE passed away on September 22, 2017 in Oakville, Ontario.

Doug joined the Force on February 6, 1979 and served his entire career in “O” Division. – You can read his obituary here.

 

 

 

 

#12851 – Retired Sergeant James Henry LUMB passed away on September 15, 2017 in Burlington, Ontario.

Jim joined the Force in April 1937 and served his entire career in “O” Division. – You can read his obituary here.

 

 

 

#16703 – Retired Staff Sergeant Kenneth Robert ELLIOTT passed away on September 21, 2017 in Calgary Alberta. 

Ken joined the Force on October 11, 1950 and served his entire career in “D” Division. – You can read his obituary here.

#32191 – Former Constable Bryan Douglas MAGEE passed away on September 22, 2017 in Chemainus, British Columbia.

Byron joined the Force on January 13, 1975 and served his entire career in “E” Division until his retirement on April 8, 1999.  No details on a service for Bryan at this moment in time.

#19156 – Former Constable William Malcolm MacGREGOR passed away on September 23, 2017 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Bill joined the Force on October 31, 1955 and served in both “M” and “E” Divisions until left the force on June 30, 1965.  There is no indication if there will be a service for Bill at this time.

 

 

 

 

#15834 – Retired Staff Sergeant Reuben Irvin FENDRICK passed away in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Reub joined the Force on June 30, 1949 and served in “F”, “K”, “G” and “M” Divisions until his retirement on July 3, 1979.  He was a member of the Yukon Division of the RCMP Veterans’ Association and later became a Life Member of that Division. No details on a service for Reub.

#14660 – Retired Staff Sergeant Robert Charles HORNETT passed away on September 23, 2017 in Duncan, British Columbia.

Bob joined the Force on March 16, 1946 and served his entire career in “F” Division until his retirement on July 18, 1971. – You can read his obituary here.
