Passing of Sergeant Dan Gibbons (Rtd.) – A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00am at the Precious Blood Parish in Surrey, BC

 

Retired Sergeant Dan Gibbons passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2018, at the age of 61. During his short battle with cancer, Dan remained gracious, humble and accepting of his diagnosis as he fought with courage and dignity. He will forever be remembered for his kind and generous spirit.

Dan joined the RCMP in 1980 and retired in 2016. He spent 22 of his 36 years of service at Surrey Detachment on A Watch, ECU, CIS, B Watch, and as the District 4 & 5 Commander.

Dan is survived by his wife Valerie, son Ryan (Melissa), and daughter Laura (Gus).

A service will be held for Dan on Saturday, January 5th at 11:00am at Precious Blood Parish (17475 – 59th Avenue, Surrey). As per the family’s wishes, members are welcome to attend in red serge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Dan’s memory.
