When a RCMP Veteran passes away – their old colleagues pause for a moment to reflect on the good times they had and the memories they created.

 

 

 

 

 

Despite the times that deceased member was serving their communities and away from their families, the Veteran’s family members are extremely proud of the contributions made by the recently departed.

The following Veterans have passed away on the past few weeks:

#14833 – Retired Staff Sergeant Gerald J. PROVENCHER passed away on September 25, 2017 at Calgary Alberta.

Gerry joined the Force February 24, 1947 and served in “A” and “K” Divisions until his retirement on October 1, 1975. –You can read his obituary here

 

 

 

#16963 – Retired Staff Sergeant John C. Russell GALBRAITH passed away on October 3, 2017 at Wetaskiwn Alberta.

Russ joined the Force on April 23, 1951 and served his entire career in “K” Division until his retirement on May 2, 1975. – You can read his obituary here.

#21110 – Retired Staff Sergeant Dean Wilson BENSON passed away on October 3, 2017 at Ladysmith, BC.

Dean joined the Force on October 22, 1959 and served in “K”, “HQ” and “E” Divisions until his retirement on October 26, 1982.You can read his obituary here.

 

 

 

Gaylene WOOLGAR, wife of Reg. 17281 S/Sgt. Ron Woolgar (Rtd), passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017.  A funeral service will be held this Friday, October 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC V8Y 1B4. Our RCMP Vets Chaplain, Rev. Lon Towstego will be officiating.

Gaylene was a recipient of the RCMP Second Man Award in October 2013, and early in their marriage was employed in E Division Headquarters in Victoria.  It would be appreciated if those with a red or blue blazer would wear it to the service. – You can read her obituary here.

#18350 – Retired Staff Sergeant Ralf L. ALDRICH passed away on October 8, 2017 at Thunder Bay Ontario.

Joined the Force 22 Aug 1953 and retired as a S/Sgt. on 23 Sep 1976. Served in E Div and overseas. Retired in 1984 as Chief Conservation Officer in BC and moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario.
