North Vancouver Detachment – 1965

Veteran Fred Stark sent us the following photos for the interest of other Veterans. Photos provide a glimpse of early days at North Vancouver Detachment.

A young Cst. Fred Stark with North Vancouver Det. traffic car in 1965, on last day of wearing Service Order No. 1 for every day duty. Maybe it wasn’t as practical; but it looked a hell of a lot sharper than what members wear today.

The following photographs are from a North Vancouver Detachment Party 1965. Total staff at Det. then was 46. We got the job done by working close to 300 hrs. a month. No overtime pay. But we still knew how to let off steam. Some members with their spouses readily reconizable are: Dave Canning. Gary Carlson, Stu Bowman, and Fred Stark.
