June 2 – 8: Gone But Not Forgotten

When a RCMP Veteran passes away – their old colleagues pause for a moment to reflect on the good times they had and the memories they created.





Despite the times that deceased member was serving their communities and away from their families, the Veteran’s family members are extremely proud of the contributions made by the recently departed.

The following individuals have passed away on the past few weeks:




#41102 – Staff Sergeant Bernard Peter GARVEY passed away on June 24, 2017 at Regina, Sask.

Bernie joined the Force on July 10, 1987 as a Special Constable until converting to a regular member in 1989. He went on to serve in “O”, “F” and “V” Division. – You can read his obituary here.



#16918 – Former Constable Ronald Patrick POWER passed away on June 22, 2017 at Hudson Quebec.

Ron joined the Force on April 2, 1951 and served in “O” Division he left the Force on March 31, 1959. – You can read his obituary here.




Civilian Member Garry Vernon LYNOTT passed away on

Garry joined the Force in 1984 and served the next 25 years in “HQ” Division until is retirement in 2009. – You can read his obituary here.




Retired Deputy Commissioner Michael SHOEMAKER passed away June 16, 2017.

Mike joined the Force on December 31 1987 and left the Force in 1994. – You can read his obituary here.
