Have You Got A Match?

In 2008, due to a back injury at home, Veteran John Gould, Reg. #35693, ended up in hospital for a week.  During that time, while conducting routine blood work, John was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of blood cancer, Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia, which is a treatable but non-curable cancer.  The disease progressed to the point that John had to start chemotherapy.  After 8 rounds of chemo, the disease had advanced to where he was given a life expectancy of 3 years.  John’s last resort was a bone marrow transplant.  The following is a video produced on the story of John Gould:  https://youtu.be/bLhYLqA6x7A

The Vancouver Division supports The Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society and some members serve as couriers.  You can learn more about The Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society by visiting their website.
