Aug. 22 -27: Gone But Not Forgotten

When a RCMP Veteran passes away – their old colleagues pause for a moment to reflect on the good times they had and the memories they created.




Despite the times that deceased member was serving their communities and away from their families, the Veteran’s family members are extremely proud of the contributions made by the recently departed.

The following individuals have passed away on the past few weeks:




#20110 – Retired Corporal Harry Wayne BURNS passed away on August 21, 2016 at Toronto Ontario.

Harry  joined the Force in July 1957 and served in “L”, “J”, and “O” Divisions prior to his retirement on July 4, 1987. – You can read his obituary here.




#58155 – Constable Robert Douglas ARCHIBALD passed away on the 14th of July, 2016.

Robert joined the Force on September 8, 2009 and served in “H” and “E” Divisions – Read his obituary here.

#22944 – Former Constable John F. KAMINSKI passed away suddenly on the 24th of July, 2016 while on holidays at his son’s house in Canada.

John joined the Force on January 17, 1963 and served in “M” Division until he left the Force in 1973.  A celebration Aug 20 , 2016 at 10 Montgomery Crescent Golden Beach Caloundra 4551. He has resided for many years in Australia.




#17267 – Retired S/Sgt. J.F. (John Francis ) ENTWISTLE,- age 92 of Enfield, NS, passed away peacefully in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, NS on August 15, 2016.
In 1948 John emigrated to Canada and from 1951 to 1982 served as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant. – Read his obituary here.




#29615 – Retired Sgt. J.W. (James William ) JESTADT passed away on the 22nd of August, 2016 at Grimsby, ON, one day after his 66th birthday.

Jim joined the RCMP 1972 Mar 13 and retired to pension 1997 Jun 24. After training Jim was posted to “O” Division and spent his entire RCMP career in that division.  After his RCMP retirement Jim worked as a Senior Investigator for the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board for Ontario.

James Edward VINT, an Active Member of the Okanagan Division, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 4, 2016
at Sun Pointe Village, Kelowna, BC at the age of 92. – Read his obituary here





George CRAWFORD – Okanagan Vets Honorary member passed away on the 9th of July, 2016.
George was their official piper for many years during their Memorial Service. – Read his obituary here.
